Since 1964, the date of foundation of the cooperative to date, Pliniana was able to grow, and deal with renewed enthusiasm.
During the ’80s and ’90s, the technical staff of Pliniana makes improvements and innovations in production systems in the light of technological innovations in the field, but always respecting the traditions and identities of productive land.
Our total production of grapes is about 100.000 quintal, 80.000 of wich are intended for the production of Primitivo wine and the remaining 20.000 for the production of other wines.
The vineyard is extended on 900 acres of vines, 60% of wich is shaped like a small pugliese tree mainly with Primitvo grapes, with an averange production of 60 quintal per acre, and 30% is shaped as a spurred cordon. The number of stumps for the pugliese tree is about 4.000 / 5.000 vines per acre.
The vineyard age is from 10 to 80 years old.
